Born in 1984. Studied design in his twenties, and in 2010 studied pottery at the Tajimi City Ceramics Design Institute, Gifu Prefecture. After that, in 2014, he moved his studio to Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and inherited the kiln and workshop of the late Ryo Aoki to make pottery.

At Ryutaro Yamada's workshop in the mountains of Fujino, Chobi, a black cat who has been with him since he lived in Gifu, and Usshi, a white cat who became his family after coming to Sagamihara, are enjoying themselves.
