Born in 1984, he studied design in his teens and studied ceramics at the Ishoken (Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Center) in Gifu Prefecture in 2010. He then moved his studio to Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture in 2014, where he inherited the kiln and workspace of the Ryo Aoki. In Ryutaro Yamada's studio located in the mountains of Fujino, Two cats, Chobi, a black cat who has been with him since he lived in Gifu, and Usi, a white cat who became a family member after coming to Fujino, are spending their days in a relaxed lifestyle. The bowls created for the cats are a charming harmony of originality and usability.
